Five has commissioned a major, new, live entertainment event which will discover Britain’s greatest musical performance groups, it was announced today (THURS).

Don’t Stop Believing, produced by Shine TV and GroupM Entertainment, will scour Britain for existing and first time musical groups created by friends, colleagues, school mates or families performing some of the greatest songs ever in spectacular never-heard-before arrangements.

Richard Woolfe, Five’s Channel Controller, said: “There’s an explosion of musical performance groups being formed in the UK and Don’t Stop Believing will tap into that exciting groundswell.

”This will be the first series to combine both singing and dancing to create an amazing entertainment spectacle which will completely capture the viewers’ imagination.”

The groups will be choreographed, coached and judged by industry experts with five live elimination shows culminating in a thrilling live final.

Alongside the main competition, the public will also be invited to join a specially created Don’t Stop Believing super group which will represent the UK on the thriving international Glee Club circuit in the USA. These auditions will be held whilst the series on air, with new members swelling the ranks every week.

Don’t Stop Believing is a Shine TV/GroupM Entertainment co-production for Five. The co-production between Shine and GroupM was initiated and negotiated by Jamie Munro, Joint Managing Director of Shine TV and Richard Foster, Managing Director of GroupM Entertainment.

Executive Producers will be Shine TV’s Karen Smith, who was launch producer of Strictly Come Dancing, and Richard Woolfe and Donna Taberer for Five. Tony Moulsdale will be producing for GroupM Entertainment.

Musical performance groups who want to take part in the series should go www.five.tv/dontstop for entry details.
