A weekly dose of what’s on your mind from the desk of Customer Services
We’ve been getting really excited about the new Minder which started on Wednesday. It was the kind of show that was bound to get people talking, since it was such a huge success during the 70’s and 80’s. Under the circumstances the show had a lot to live up to. We got a big response from the audience, some good, some bad. Most of the feedback was focused on Shane Ritchie, unsurprisingly, since he had the biggest shoes to fill. Lots of people thought he was fantastic, others were not so sure. All we would say is that when we get a lot of reaction from a TV show on Five, good or bad, we’re happy.
If you watched Minder last week but weren’t too sure about it maybe you should give it a go next Wednesday. If you missed it and want to know what the fuss is about, we’re repeating it on Saturday evening at 7:30pm. It’s also on Demand Five.
There’s been an amazing response from viewers about Dominic and Melinda’s crusade against dodgy builders. The response has been mostly positive. However, a number of builders were concerned that the programme reflected poorly on the trade as a whole. We can assure you that it is the furthest thing from our minds. In fact, we feel that the generosity from those shown toward the victims of these cowboys when it comes to repairing the damage helps make the show so special.
Out Of The Blue
We are getting a stack of questions about the new Aussie soap… (Well it is new to FIVER). Lots of people seem to think that we are carrying on from where the BBC left off. Unfortunately, we are not doing this. We’ve bought up all the episodes originally commissioned by the Beeb and there are no plans to produce any more. Sorry about that.
This week you have been asking about the music for the new series of The Shield (coming soon on Five USA BTW). This is a track by Kings Of Leon called ‘Crawl’. The Beast (another upcoming Five US show) uses ‘DLZ’ by TV On The Radio.
For a chance to meet the love of your life and be on TV apply to be on our forthcoming reality show Farmer Wants A Wife. More details are available on the programme’s website:
